SiteTrellis is a platform of tools for people who run websites. We start with the one we think is most broken: live chat.

Why we are building this

Most website chat tools are either a black box you cannot tune, or a per-seat subscription with the language-model cost buried inside it. Neither lets you decide how the assistant behaves, which model answers, or what you pay for.

SiteTrellis takes the opposite approach. You bring your own provider keys, you write the prompt, you choose the tools and the handoff rules, and you can step into any conversation. We run the platform around it: the widget, the dashboard, the inbox, the fallbacks and the guardrails.

Principles

  1. The customer controls everything. Prompt, persona, models, tools, rules, escalation and widget look are settings, not hard-coded choices.
  2. Bring your own key. We do not resell tokens. Your keys are encrypted, masked and rate-limited so a bad actor cannot run up your bill.
  3. Reliable by default. Provider fallbacks, timeouts and offline behavior mean a visitor never lands in a dead chat.
  4. Runs anywhere cheap. The platform is deliberately simple to operate. That is why replies arrive whole and the widget polls, instead of relying on infrastructure we would have to charge you for.
  5. Isolated by design. Every account is separate from every other. Agencies get workspaces so client work stays apart.
  6. Room to grow. Accounts, billing, teams and the dashboard are shared, so future products arrive in the place you already work.

Small businesses that want a competent assistant on their site without hiring a developer, agencies that run chat for many clients, and software teams that want the agent to call their own APIs.

What we do not do

We are not a voice product, a CRM or a helpdesk. We built it for text chat on your website: replies arrive whole, and the agent knows what you paste in rather than crawling your site. The product page lists exactly where the edges are.
