Terms of Service

Effective October 10, 2026 · questions: [email protected]

1. Agreement

These terms govern your use of the SiteTrellis websites, dashboard, API and chat widget (the "Service"), provided by SiteTrellis, a business that is not yet incorporated or registered as a company and is operated by its founder ("SiteTrellis", "we", "us"). We will update these terms, and give you notice, if the business is incorporated or transferred to a company, and the company will take over our obligations. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself or the organization you represent. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

The Service lets you build and run a chat agent on your websites using large language model (LLM) providers that you choose and pay for. Features, limits and prices depend on your plan, as described on the pricing page. We may improve, change or retire features, and will give reasonable notice of changes that materially reduce what your plan includes.

The Service also includes the desktop and mobile apps and the connections you create for AI assistants, API keys and apps. These are scoped to what you grant and can be revoked from the dashboard at any time. You are responsible for the connections you create and for the assistants and apps you authorize.

3. Accounts and security

  • You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account, including that of invited team members.
  • You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to open an account.
  • Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

4. Your provider keys and LLM costs

The Service is bring-your-own-key. You obtain API keys from third-party providers (for example Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, OpenRouter and DeepSeek) and add them to your account. Those providers bill you directly under your agreement with them. We do not resell tokens and we are not a party to your agreement with any provider.

  • You are responsible for the cost of usage on your keys, including usage caused by visitors to your websites. Rate limits and caps we provide are safeguards, not guarantees.
  • You must have the right to use each key, and to send the content you configure and your visitors submit to the provider you select.
  • We store your keys encrypted. We use them only to make requests you have configured.
  • Provider availability, model behavior and output quality are outside our control. Fallback chains reduce, but do not eliminate, the risk of failed responses.

5. Your content and your visitors

You keep all rights in the content you provide (prompts, knowledge, tool configuration) and in conversation data from your visitors ("Customer Data"). You grant us a limited license to host, process and transmit Customer Data only to provide the Service. You are responsible for the lawfulness of your content and for giving your visitors any notices and obtaining any consents required by law, including that conversations are handled by an automated system and sent to the LLM providers you select.

AI-generated responses can be inaccurate. You are responsible for how you configure and rely on your agent, including reviewing conversations and setting appropriate guardrails, and for not using the Service as the sole basis for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on people.

6. Acceptable use

You may not use the Service to:

  • break the law, infringe others' rights, or generate or distribute malware, spam or deceptive content;
  • harass people, or target minors, or process special categories of data without a lawful basis;
  • probe, scan or attack the Service, evade rate limits or plan limits, or interfere with other customers;
  • configure tools that call internal or third-party systems you are not authorized to access;
  • violate the terms of your LLM providers.

We may suspend access to protect the Service or other customers, and will tell you why where we reasonably can.

7. Plans, fees and billing

  • Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or annually, through our payment provider (Stripe). Annual plans are priced at ten times the monthly price. Prices are in US dollars and may exclude taxes.
  • Plan limits (such as conversations per month) apply per account. The Free plan has a hard monthly cap; paid plans have a grace buffer. We will not cut off a live visitor mid-conversation, but once the cap (and any grace buffer) is used the agent may switch to its offline or failure message until you upgrade or the next period begins.
  • You can cancel at any time from the billing page; cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period. Fees already paid are not refunded for a partial period, but if you were charged in error, or you cancel within 14 days of your first paid charge and have not meaningfully used the paid features, email us and we will refund that charge.
  • We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.
  • The free plan is provided as-is and may be limited or withdrawn.

8. Data protection

Where we process personal data in Customer Data on your behalf, the Data Processing Agreement applies and forms part of these terms. Our Privacy Policy describes personal data we handle as a controller.

9. Intellectual property

We and our licensors own the Service, including software, design and documentation. We grant you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your business during your subscription. Feedback you give us may be used without obligation.

10. Availability and support

We aim to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Support is by email at [email protected]. We read every message and aim to reply within two business days; we do not offer guaranteed response times or service levels at this stage. The Service is new, may have maintenance windows, and is run by a very small team.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach, non-payment or legal requirement. On termination we will delete or return Customer Data as described in the Data Processing Agreement, and these terms continue to apply to anything that must survive (payment, liability, intellectual property).

12. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that AI output will be accurate, complete or suitable for your purpose.

13. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability for claims relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

14. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your content, your agent's configuration, or your breach of these terms.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will give notice of material changes by email or in the dashboard before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the update.

16. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the place where the operator of SiteTrellis is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Before starting a formal proceeding, both sides will try to resolve the dispute informally by email for at least 30 days. Mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence are not affected.
